Dear Lakeside Families,

As we close out another incredible school year, I want to take a moment to reflect on all that we’ve accomplished together—and to say thank you.

This year has been filled with growth, learning, and joy. From the first-day jitters in September to the proud smiles we’re seeing now, our students have come so far. They’ve worked hard in the classroom, supported each other on the playground, and grown not just academically, but as kind, curious, and resilient young people. I’ve watched them take on challenges, celebrate successes, and, most importantly, learn from the moments in between. These are the lifelong lessons that will carry them far beyond the walls of our school.

I’m especially proud of how our students embraced our core values—being respectful, responsible, and safe in all that they do. Whether it was through service projects, buddy programs, class performances, or day-to-day classroom leadership, they reminded us what it means to be part of a caring and connected school community.

Of course, none of this would be possible without the incredible support of our families and our PTO. To our PTO board and all of our volunteers: thank you. You’ve shown up again and again to help make our school a better place. Whether by organizing events, supporting our teachers, creating memories for our students, or simply offering an extra pair of hands and a big heart. Your partnership means the world to us, and it makes our school feel like home.

And to our 5th-grade students and their families: what a journey this has been. Watching you grow into confident, capable, and compassionate leaders of our school has been an honor. You’ve left a legacy of kindness, curiosity, and leadership, and we are so proud of the example you’ve set. As you head off to middle school, know that you always have a home here at Lakeside. We believe in you, and we can’t wait to see all the ways you’ll continue to grow and shine.

To all of our students and families, thank you for a beautiful year. I hope your summer is filled with rest, adventure, and time with the people you love. We’ll be here, cheering you on, always.

Sincerely,
Mr. King, Principal

End of the Year Update from the Health Office

All medications are to be picked up by the parent/guardian on or before the last day of
school. Kristin Mike, LPN, will be reaching out regarding parental consent to send home
over the counter medications (ie. cough drops) home with your student(s). Our policy
will not allow us to keep them for the next school year. If there is NO response regarding
the medication and they are not picked up/ sent home by the end of the day on the last
day of school, May 31st, the medication will be properly disposed of.

If your child has a current health plan or emergency plan on file with school, you will receive a copy during the summer to update for the upcoming school year.

If your child has a change in their health or has a healthcare need at school, please contact our school district nurse, Mikaila Peterson, via email during the summer and she will contact you at the beginning of the school year to discuss. Email: mikaila.peterson@oshkosh.k12.wi.us

If your child will need to take medication at school, please work with your doctor to have the following form completed and signed before the start of the school year.  As a reminder, the directions on the medication bottle must match the written order on the medication request form.

If you have a child with a severe allergy and/or asthma, or seizures the following forms will need to be completed for our school nurse. Inhalers, Epi-Pens, Allergy medications, etc., must be in their original containers.  Expiration dates will be monitored.

Continue to stay healthy and enjoy your summer!
Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns.

Thank You, Lakeside!

Our Student Council Coin War was a huge success—thanks to all of you! We deeply appreciate everyone who donated to our fundraiser.

The Children's Hospital let us know they were in need of items for gift baskets given to children admitted to the hospital. These items bring comfort during their stay and go home with them afterward.

Thanks to your generosity, Lakeside raised $695!
With the funds raised, we were able to purchase a variety of thoughtful items for the children.

Thank you again for your support and kindness!

Here are some of the items your donations helped provide (see below):
