Dear Lakeside Families, 

I hope your family is doing well! We have nine weeks left of the school year and a lot of learning to do! I want to provide a few updates for you for this month:

  • We are allowing parents back in the building and especially love volunteers who are able to support in classrooms and read with students! Please check with your child's teacher about these opportunities. If you plan to come in, please enter through Door #1 by the front office. Our secretary will need your driver's license for our new visitor check in system. We hope to see many more of you soon!
  • Please see information below about another great Family Engagement Night coming up at the end of April on Thursday, April 28! All students will be sharing their learning during this Family Night! The Scholastic Book Fair will also be in the gym during Family Night! We are so excited to host this event! 
  • Forward Exam testing begins next week for 5th graders, and the weeks to follow for 4th, then 3rd graders. Please ensure your child is in school on their testing days. Make-ups are hard to schedule and result in lost instruction time. We wish all of our 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students the best as they show all the learning and growth they've made so far this year!

Lakeside Family NightCome join us on Thursday, April 28th to celebrate all the wonderful learning your child has done this year.

This year’s family night will be an open house style. Come anytime between 5-6:15.  
 
Our goal for the night is for your child to have a chance to show you around our school and to be able to say hello to their teachers. Your child will have 2-3 samples of learning to showcase. They are preparing these samples in the upcoming weeks and will be so excited to share these samples with you!
 
We also will have a bingo board that your family can complete.  Your family will go on a scavenger hunt around the building visiting different areas. After you have completed your bingo board, you can sign your family’s name on the bingo board and drop it into the box.  We will be drawing one family’s card for a chance to win a prize basket.

5th Grade Biography Fair

The fifth grade biography fair will be on Tuesday, April 12th. We will have two open house sessions from 9:30-10:30 and from 1:30-2:30. Fifth grade families are invited to attend during any of these times. Please remember to bring your driver's license and check in at the office. We look forward to seeing everyone!
