Dear Lakeside Families,
It has been a fun week at Lakeside celebrating our Lakeside staff for Teacher Appreciation Week! Our staff is a dedicated, hardworking group that prioritizes positive relationships and student growth. This week, our PTO showered our teachers with food, flowers, artwork, and treats to celebrate their impact on children and families! Thank you to our PTO leaders, Lori Moen, Annie Majorowicz, ElizaBeth Chase, and Kimmie Martin, as well as the many families that joined in to decorate the parking lot or brought treats for staff this week! This week also marked Nurse Appreciation Week and we are so thankful to have our nurse, Mrs. Draxler and health assistant Ms. Lembcke working to support students and families!
As we plan forward, here are some events and updates for you to be aware of:
- Our school is planning to purchase new playground equipment in the future and we need your help! Please see this letter drafted by our student council leaders about this important project.
- Our next PTO meeting is on Monday, May 10 at 6pm! Please join us to elect new officers and plan for the future! We need your voice and ideas! Click here for the meeting link.
- Next Wednesday, May 12 is our last early release this school year. Early release time is 12:30 pm.
- All Lakeside students will learn about summer safety tips later this month (Monday, May 17). Firefighter John with the Oshkosh Fire Department will be teaching about fire, water, bike, and sun safety.
Have a great weekend!
~Mrs. Ashton
SPRING rEMINDERS
- Jackets need to be worn outside unless the temperature reaches 50 degrees. Between 50 and 60, long sleeves must still be worn.
- Boots still need to be worn on the playground and field due to muddy conditions.
-
Our playground is extremely wet and muddy this time of year! Please consider packing a spare set of clothes in your child’s backpack. This may help avoid a phone call to parents at work for dry clothes if a mud or rain puddle is encountered outside.

Missing Books!
We need your help in locating books that are missing from our school library, classroom libraries and guided reading area. Your child had the opportunity to enjoy these books while we transitioned through our Model 3 & 4 phase and unfortunately many of those books have still not been returned. We ask that you please take a moment to search your homes for these books and help return them to our bookshelves for others to check out and enjoy.
Thank you for your time and assistance!
Health Office Update
Please click here for a letter from our school nurse about returning to school 5 days a week! It includes information on the daily student symptom check, and when to keep a sibling home from school.
