Facilities Advisory Committee

The Oshkosh Area School District (OASD) is committed to providing transparency and engaging with the community to find a sustainable solution to address the District’s numerous facility needs while supporting an educational environment designed to make students college, career, community, and future-ready. This webpage provides an overview of the OASD’s work, advisory recommendations, and more.

Foundational Facilities Work

The OASD partnered with Bray Associates Architects to conduct an extensive analysis of the District's facilities. The first phase of this process (the study) was completed in 2017 (see Facility Condition Assessment / Facilities Study and Budget). A comprehensive examination of each building followed to identify capacity and evaluate the quantity/quality of educational spaces. Phase 2 and Phase 3 of the process were completed in 2018 and included an enrollment projection study and a capital improvements cost analysis. Phase 4 took place 2019 to determine the next steps related to the facilities study and investing in the future.

2022 Facilities Advisory Committee (FAC 2.0)

The District continued its work related to the Four-Phased Facilities Consolidation Plan that was developed by the Facility Advisory Committee (FAC) and approved by the School Board in 2019. The Board authorized the creation of a Facility Advisory Committee 2.0, tasked with seeking solutions to the District’s athletic and co-curricular needs, specifically:

  • outdoor athletic competition and practice facilities;
  • indoor athletic and multi-purpose practice facilities;
  • fine arts performance facilities;
  • and aquatic competition and practice facilities.

2019 Community Survey

The OASD partnered with School Perceptions to conduct a community survey to gather input regarding District operations and educational facility needs. Survey information was mailed to all district households in October 2019, and residents could complete the survey online or via hardcopy by November 10, 2019. Responses were collected by School Perceptions and a summary was provided to the FAC and District leaders. This information was also included in the FAC's Board Workshop on December 4, 2019 and is available online via the following link: 2019 OASD Community Survey Results
